The third year of the Championship Clash, previously won by Trevor Hammond-Thayre (2024) and Glen Relph (2025)

Entry this year will cost £5 per bowler

As last years champion, Glen Relph also gets to play, who will be crowned the 2026 Champion?

One bowler from each team will represent their team to throw the highest score each round.

Championship Clash 2026 – Results
The 2026 Gatwick Tri-Stars Championship Clash got underway with 13 bowlers taking on one of the most unique and pressure-filled formats in bowling – the single-shot elimination Clash.
Unlike traditional bowling, every frame consists of just one shot. Knock down as many pins as possible and, after each frame, the bowler with the lowest pinfall is eliminated. There are no second chances, making every delivery count.
From the very first ball, the tension was high as strikes flew, clutch shots were made and the field gradually narrowed.
Top seed Glen Relph showed exactly why he entered as the favourite, producing a composed display to comfortably reach the final stages. Steve Weston and Paul McArdle also impressed with consistent performances, while Holly Towersey, Oliver Stroud and Mark Cox all battled their way deep into the competition.
Mark Palmer, Kevin Tucker, Paul Morris, Daren Knightsbridge, Rob Metcalfe and Harley Bourne all gave everything in a format where a single shot can end your tournament.

A Final Worthy of the Occasion
In a repeat of last year’s final, defending champion Glen Relph and 2025 runner-up Lewis Hammond once again found themselves battling for the Championship.
Bowling first, Lewis Hammond delivered an outstanding shot that looked destined to strike, only to be denied by a stubborn stone 8 pin, leaving him with 9 pins.
The pressure was now on Glen. He needed 9 pins to force a roll-off or a strike to retain his title. However, under immense pressure, he narrowly missed his intended target and knocked down 8 pins, handing victory to Lewis.
Starting the event as the 12th seed, Lewis survived every elimination round before producing when it mattered most to complete a remarkable rise to the top.
Congratulations to Lewis Hammond, the 2026 Gatwick Tri-Stars Championship Clash Champion! 🏆🎳
It was a fitting conclusion between two outstanding competitors and another memorable Championship Clash. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make this year’s event such a fantastic success. We look forward to doing it all again next year!
