Thank you once again to our friends at the Kegel Training Center, Lake Wales, FL for their support of our singles championship by giving us a TeleCoach experience for the last few seasons.

Have you ever wanted to get a lesson from one of Kegel’s world class coaches but haven’t had a chance to travel to Florida?

Then look no further than a TeleCoach digital experience!

The Tristar’s singles champion will now receive digital coaching with a voiced-over video analysis of a submitted video, a personalised phone call from the coach explaining the changes, as well as creating a practice plan for them.

No more scrolling for hours through YouTube looking for the solution.The TeleCoach digital experience is a coaching service that includes a digital video analysis with voiceover as well as a personalised conversation with one of Kegel Training Center’s coaches.

Our winner will receive a voucher, then all they will have to do will be to pop to the Kegel Training Center’s website and request a TeleCoach session, fill out the information with “TeleCoach” in the “Lesson Type” field. You will them receive an email back from KTC staff within 24 hours to confirm, and handle receiving the videos. It’s that simple!

Topics that can be covered as part of the session: physical game recommendations, lane play strategies, arsenal evaluations and drills.For the TeleCoach video analysis to go smoothly, they recommend sending in videos no longer than 15 seconds.

Take a short video of a shot from directly behind, from the side showing the full approach, and if possible from the front. Then, one of their world class gold coaches will review them on their video analysis system and send you back the video with instructions and voice-over recording.

Kimberley Ann ran the ladder all the way to the championship match, where she would eventually face her husband and coach, Ian Oakley.

In the opening match, Kim took on Dave Whiffin. Dave got off to a slow start, while Kim settled in immediately with an opening strike and then a four-bagger through frames 3, 4, 5 and 6. Dave came alive late in the game, striking four in a row from frame 9 onwards, but it wasn’t enough to catch Kim, who edged the match 227–222.

Game two saw Kim face fellow Surrey ICC teammate Holly Towersey. Holly opened in frames 3 and 4 just as Kim put together another four-bagger. Holly responded brilliantly, finishing with five consecutive strikes and 9/spare/strike, but Kim was simply relentless, striking out from the ninth frame to post an impressive 246 scratch game. Kim advanced with a 270–233 victory.

Next up was Oliver Stroud, who has recently made the switch to two-handed bowling. Both athletes bowled a solid game throughout, but Kim managed to stay ahead thanks to a couple of timely strings of strikes, while Oliver was repeatedly left with frustrating nine counts. Kim progressed to the championship match with a 234–227 win.

The final against Ian Oakley was a roller coaster from start to finish. Ian opened with nine counts through the first five frames before finally finding a strike in the sixth. Kim started strongly with a double but suffered an unlucky split in frame five. Ian then left a 5-7 split in frame seven but delivered a textbook conversion, a moment that may well have proved decisive. Heading into the tenth frame, Ian made a ball change and responded with a clutch turkey to secure the title, winning 229–225.

What a fantastic night of bowling, featuring great scores, exciting matches and a superb atmosphere throughout. It’s a shame we weren’t able to stream the action live, as it would certainly have made for excellent viewing.
